A helping hand, extended without conditions
Manos Que Ayudan USA Inc. began with a simple belief: that dignity shouldn't depend on circumstance — and that compassion doesn't have to choose between people and animals.
To restore hope, strengthen communities, and extend care to those most in need
To improve the quality of life of vulnerable individuals, families, and communities by providing compassionate humanitarian assistance, essential resources, and sustainable support programs. Guided by integrity, dignity, and accountability, we are committed to restoring hope, strengthening communities, and extending care to those most in need — including abandoned and stray animals.
Our Vision: To be a trusted and respected nonprofit organization recognized for transforming lives, strengthening communities, and creating lasting opportunities through compassionate service, strategic partnerships, and sustainable programs that empower people and protect vulnerable animals for generations to come.
Why one organization serves two causes
Manos Que Ayudan USA Inc. was founded by people who kept noticing the same gap, over and over, in the communities along the U.S.-Mexico border: families going without food or water during a crisis, and stray dogs surviving without shelter, medical care, or anyone looking for them.
Rather than choose one cause, our founders chose both — because the same open hand that delivers a meal to a person in need can also feed a hungry dog on the same street. The name reflects that belief literally: Manos Que Ayudan means "hands that help."
Today, that same principle guides every program we run: show up directly, serve without judgment, and account for every dollar entrusted to us.
The principles behind every program
Compassion
We serve with empathy and respect, without judging anyone's situation — ever.
Integrity
We operate honestly and ethically in every program, with no hidden agenda.
Transparency
Responsible, accountable use of every donation and every resource we receive.
Service
People and animals first, always — without exception, without delay.
Direct help, no unnecessary middlemen
We believe the most effective help is the most direct help. Our volunteers go where the need is — street corners, encampments, and informal shelters where families and animals are often overlooked by larger institutions.
That means lower overhead, faster response times, and a closer relationship between what you give and what people and animals receive.
